Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge 29 – Add a Door or Window

Hello everyone,

I had to think long and hard with this one.  I have a porch on the front of my house with a picture window and when I thought about it I thought it would be nice to recreate my dream front porch.  I so enjoy sitting on the porch on a warm summer evening and looking out into the front garden.

Since this week the blog challenge at Cheery Lynn is to use a Door or Window, this was my perfect opportunity.  I absolutely LOVE the new Cheery Lynn window dies but I must admit, I have struggled with using them.  I was determined to find a way.  I seem to always be inclined to look “outside the box” no pun intended 🙂  although I love their intended purposes.  Another one of my favorite Cheery Lynn Design Dies is the picket fence die.  I have used this die for so many projects in the past and once again it was my “go-to” favorite.  I thought it was perfect to make a garden bench and with a little perseverance I was able to make it work.

I love flowers, arbors and swings (actually, I love anything to do with the garden)  so here is what I was able to come up with:

For this project I used:

Cheery Lynn Window A

Cheery Lynn Victorian Picket Fence

Cheery Lynn Flourish Leaf Strip

Cheery Lynn Cuties 3

Cheery Lynn Princess Tree

Cheery Lynn Exotic Butterfly Small

Cheery Lynn Small Angel Wing

I also wanted to send kudos to the DT for such wonderful inspiration this week.

Thanks so much for popping by.  Hope to see you again soon.

JustRite Friday Challenge #073 – “Anything But Square”

Hi everyone,

Sorry I have been away for a while.  I have been working on a big project that I will be able to announce shortly and I have finally finished it!!

Tonight I wanted to create an entry for this weeks JustRite Friday Challenge #073 – “Anything But Square” Challenge.  I so enjoyed the inspiration from the Design Team.  They always do such a fantastic job.

The challenge this week was to create a shaped card in any shape as long as it is not square.

I wanted to create a special gift for a friend to thank her for everything she has done for me.  The last time she was over she admired a dish that I used for some snacks so in addition to the thank you card, I also wanted to recreate the dish as well.  As a bonus, I will fill it with her favorite chocolate  🙂

Here is a picture of the dish I was talking about:

And here is my version:

I really hope she likes it 🙂

Thank you for visiting my blog and have a great evening,

JustRite Friday Challenge #072

Good evening ladies,

Tonight I want to enter a challenge that I really enjoyed doing.  The challenge is the JustRite Friday Challenge #072.

The challenge this week is to create a 3D project that is either a gift item or something for the home.  Sheri has created a wonderful project for inspiration.

I was watching something on TV (can’t even remember what) and they were talking about the Queen of England.

What a lovely hat ……………. why don’t I make one?  Better yet, make it a box so you can put sweets inside!

Well, I did.  I once again have to give a thumbs up to my Sure-Cuts-A-Lot software.  Without it I would truly be lost.

Here it is:

Thank you for visiting my blog and have a great day,

Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge 27 – Shades of Purple

Hello there ladies,

I have been missing in action for a while, sorry.  I have been working on something exciting that will be announced later but tonight I wanted to enter a card in this week’s Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge 27 – Shades of Purple Challenge.

The title speaks for itself, we had to use the color purple predominantly on our cards.

Bonnie, Donna and Sandy have all provided us with some lovely inspiration.

Here is my entry:

This is my first ever “Flip Flop” card and I had fun making it.   I really enjoy doing something other than the traditional A6 card and this is just another idea I saw on the web while browsing around.  There are templates that you can buy for this, both cut files as well as dies but I decided to simply make it myself since it is an easy layout.

My recipe for this card is:

Cheery Lynn French Flair Scalloped Nesting Dies

Cheery Lynn Victoria Garden Doily Frame

Cheery Lynn Stacker Flower #1 Leaf

Cheery Lynn Cuties 2

Cheery Lynn Small Dragonfly with Angel Wing

Thank you for visiting my blog and have a great night,

Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge 26 – Flowers

Hello there ladies,

I was so excited when I saw this weeks Cheery Lynn Designs Challenge 26 – Flowers Challenge.

If I had to pick one passion in my life it is flowers 🙂

Bonnie and Donna have provided us with some lovely inspiration.  I have made this project in the past but when I took it into work to put it on my desk it did not last the morning.  Needless to say, I have to make another one.

This vase is based on a vase I have in my office and I used my Sure-Cuts-A-Lot software to cut it out.  Of course, no vase is complete without flowers so I used the “Best Flower Dies Ever” Cheery Lynn Design Flower Dies.  I continue to experiment with different combinations of dies and paper to create my flowers.  The dies are so versatile that you can easily mix and match any of them!

Here is my project:

I apologize in advance for the recipe for this one..

The sentiment is from Hero Arts – Friends are Flowers and is cut out using Cherry Lynn Designs Rectangle – Classic Card Stackers

Flourishes are made using Cheery Lynn Mini Fanciful Flourish and Fanciful Flourish

The ribbon around the middle of the vase is laced into the Ribbon Eyelet Border Die

The border around the top and bottom of the vase is Tiffany Border

The butterflies are Exotic Butterfly Small and the matching Small Angel Wing

Ok, now for the flower dies:

Sweet Williams

Stacker Flower #5

Stacker Flower #6

Judy’s Bloom

Cuties 1

Cuties 2

Cuties 4

Miniature Rose

Medium Rose

Large Rose

Wow, did I use that many?

Thank you so much for visiting my blog and taking the time to read this long list.

  Have a great evening.
