The Shabby Tea Room – Week #116 – ‘Color Me Pretty’

Happy Friday Everyone,

I haven’t posted much this week but I have been working hard in my craft room on a project for this weeks Shabby Tea Room Challenge.   For this week, we have been asked us to create a card or project inspired by this photo

USING WHITE/CREAM, PINK and BLUE plus FLOWERS and A FABRIC ELEMENT!  (Your fabric element can be anything that is made from material – ribbon, lace, burlap, fabric, chenille, velvet, etc.).

For some time now, I have been wanting to create my own version of a wedding/garden gazebo.  I found a picture of one that really caught my eye (see below).  I love how soft and feminine this gazebo looked with all of the flowers.  Here is the picture that I used for my inspiration.

I looked high and low but couldn’t quite find a template for what I wanted my gazebo to look like so I decided to use a bit of what I saw in several pictures and create my own design.

I started with a hexagon shape and then cut triangles for the roof and created door frames for the walls in the back filling the center of the doors with a Cheery Lynn Frame.  To ensure that the Gazebo stood up I used Cookie Sticks that I bought at my local Michael’s.  For my fabric I used Tulle Fabric to make curtians which I thought worked quite well.

Here is my project, I tried to take some pictures at a few different angles so you could see the dimension.

Thank you very much for stopping by to visit.  I hope you have a wonderful weekend!  The weather here sounds promising.  We’ve had a bit of a cold, damp week in Nova Scotia so the sunshine will be appreciated.

Hugs*
