Hi there and Happy Sunday to all my blog friends! : )
Here is what we need to do for this week’s Challenge:
Good Morning, and Happy Friday Everyone!
WOW, where does the time go? It’s hard to believe that we are already past mid-January. Seems like yesterday we were getting ready for Christmas and before we can blink, Valentines Day will be upon us!! So with this week’s challenge theme in mind, I have a fun heart-shaped box I made to share with you.
It’s been really great to play with the new release dies and I was able to incorporate a few of these new dies into this project, but I pulled out some of my favorites dies from my stash as well : ) I used the DL106 Heart to Heart Doily as the focal point of my heart-shaped box. This is such a gorgeous set of dies! You get a set of 4 dies, 3 of which die-cut heart-shaped lace doilies and the 4th gives you a solid shape backing for the largest doily. I bet you are thinking what I am…, there are lots of uses for this gorgeous set all through the year not just Valentines Day! : )
For a bit of a different twist, I decided to build long-stem roses and used the Miniature Rose die and my flower tool to form the rose buds. The BAF #2 Embellishments provided the stems and the baby’s breath accents.
If you want to make this box yourself it is actually quite easy. You can use this method for any box that you want to make. Simply have a die cut for the top and bottom of the box. (Hint: I normally do at least 2 die cuts for both the top and bottom for stability) After that, all you need is a strip of paper in whatever height that you want with a 1/2 inch fold to glue it to the top or bottom. When making the bottom simply make the side a little smaller so that the top fits on. If your need to bend the side simply put relief cuts on the 1/2 inch fold to allow you to form it in whatever shape you desire.
Here’s a list of the dies used for this project:
B107 – Frills & Hearts Border
B152 – Miniature Rose
B187 – Build a Flower #2
B188 – Embellishment #2
B227 – Love (Set of 2)
B235 – You (Set of 2)
DL106 – Heart to Heart Doily
DL238 – Sophie’s Heart Mini Doily
The entries for last week’s challenge were just fantastic! I really enjoyed looking in on your wonderful creations and visiting your blogs. I hope you can find some time to visit the challenge this week and put in your entry where the theme is Sweethearts! With your entry you will have a chance to win a $20.00 shopping spree at Cheery Lynn Designs!… Now that’s a “sweet deal”!
Welcome to the weekend everyone,
Today I want to share with you another fun 3D creation I have made for entry into this weeks Shabby Tea Room Challenge.
This week Rebecca is our creative host and she has chosen the theme of ‘Antique Roses’ along with this beautiful photo for inspiration and Rebecca asks that you create a card or project inspired by the COLORS IN THE PHOTO AND INCLUDE ROSES PLUS FABRIC/RIBBON!
Well I love Antique and Roses so this was one challenge that I just had to play along with : )
Here is a little antique teapot and teabag dispenser that I plan to give away to a close friend.
