Let’s Celebrate

Hi Everyone and a very Happy Easter Weekend to you!

The theme this week at Cheery Lynn Designs is “Celebrate” and with that in mind I want to show you my version of a 3D cupcake that I made.  Best of all the cupcake is fat-free!  How great is that!

For this of you who are wondering, I purchased this cut file from SVG Cuts, here is the link to the file.  They have a lot of wonderful designs and the quality of the purchased files are great.

After I received the file I changed some of the aspects of the design to suit my personal taste.  There are lots of cut files out there for purchse, or if you are good at using any sort of SVG design software, you can also easily make your own cut files.  I personally create cut files whenever I have to make a series of the same cut for both accuracy and time.

As a bonus it opens to add some sweet treats just in case you would like to enjoy a little guilty pleasure! : )

Is it Spring Yet?

Hi Everyone,

In keeping with our challenge theme this week “Think Spring,” I am excited to share a Spring inspired project with you!  It’s my hope that the more we envision Spring, the faster it will arrive!…lol!

Unfortunately Old Man Winter reared his head again this week blasting us with bitter cold temperatures and another snowstorm.  So needless to say I am extremely ready for winter to be over and Spring to begin.  They say, “beware  the Ides of March” for a reason I guess : )

I was enjoying some time playing with some of the Cheery Lynn flower dies including the leaves from the Frangipani flower and decided to make a Dahlia flower and that is when I got the idea to feature it on these Spring inspired watering cans.   I had such a great time making the larger one that I decided to make a matching tiny version as well : )

For the tiny watering can, I used Lady Kate Edger as the trim as well as the Daisy Strip die for the larger flower and I die cut some sweet little Darling Daisies to place inside the can.  Of course, I could not resist adding some nature as well.  You can find the sweet little ladybugs, bubble bees, dragonflies and even a butterfly all packaged as a set when you purchase  Tiny Things with Wings.

Here’s a list of the dies used for this project:

A196 – Darling Daisies
B134 – Frangipani with Leaves (I used the small leaf used for petals)
B136 – Anastasia Border
B181 – Build a Flower # 1
B259 – Daisy Strip
B261 – Tags 2
B266 – Tiny Things with Wings
B278 – Lady Kate Edger
D137 – Sweet Williams
DL226 – Snowflowers Set Two (I used this for the base of the Dahlia)
SF-1 – Leaf
SF-3 – Stacker Flower 3

I hope you can find some time to visit the challenge this week and put in your entry where the theme is Think Spring.  With your entry you will have a chance to win a $20.00 shopping spree at Cheery Lynn Designs!

JustRite Friday Challenge #092 – Make It Pop

Hi again everyone, it’s hard to believe but I have another card to share with you today, two postings in one day, that’s a record for me.  This time, I have a birthday card that I made for Sheri at JustRite Inspiration.  Happy Birthday to you Sheri!

For the challenge, Sheri has asked us to use dimensional foam adhesives and make it POP which was an easy one for me as I use a lot of foam squares in all of my crafting projects.

To check out the challenge here is a link  JustRite Friday Challenge #092 – Make It Pop.

Here is a bit of a closer look.  It’s hard to tell from the photo but the sentiment and frame as well as the flowers are all popped out using 3D foam adhesive.  I wish you could see it but the card really does POP!

I am entering this card in the following challenge:

JustRite Friday Challenge #092 – Make It Pop!

Thanks so much for visiting my blog and I hope to see you again very soon!
