Anchors Away!

Hi Everyone,

The theme this week is Make it Manly so I thought that this would be a good time to make a Fathers Day Card.

I used the Mayflower and added the waves from the At The Beach set to make the ship look like it is sailing.  For the base I colored the Sailing Ship / Compass Embossing Plate with distressed ink before I embossed it and finished it off with a Sand Dollar from the Sand Dollar and Starfish set.

Here’s a list of the dies used for this project:

B226 – Happy (Set of 2)
B236 – Day (Set of 2)
B246 – Fathers Mix and Match Words
B276 – Mayflower
B279 – Sand Dollar and Starfish
C143 – At The Beach (waves only)
E121 – Sailing Ship / Compass Embossing Plate

I hope you can find some time to visit the challenge this week and put in your entry where the theme is Make it Manly!  With your entry you will have a chance to win a $20.00 shopping spree at Cheery Lynn Designs!

Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my blog.  I hope you enjoyed and visit again soon.  I love to read your comments, they just make my day!

My name is Joann and I live in Halifax, Nova Scotia with my husband Miles. We have one son who is in the Royal Canadian Navy. I have worked full time in the Finance and Insurance industry for the past 29 years. I absolutely adore all things paper & glue and have been involved with crafting in some way for most of my life. I have a great admiration for creating projects from paper that may not necessarily be made from paper. When not in my craft room, I enjoy spending time at our cottage enjoying all that nature and suburban life has to offer.

  2. Oh now Joann this is great! Perfect for a male card, and just what I need too – all the men in my life and those I know like anything to do with the sea. That is what comes of living by the sea I guess. Love what you have done combining everything. Judy x
