“All Geared Up and No Place To Go” Hat

Hi everyone!  Thanks for popping by today 🙂   Welcome to some Wednesday inspiration for Heartfelt Creations!

Today I want to share with you a fun Steampunk hat I created using the fantastic All Geared Up Collection. I also included some additional elements from some of the older Heartfelt Creations collections to jazz it up a bit 🙂

Project Instructions:

Other products:  Core’dinations Kraft Core Nostalgic Collection Card Stock, Reasonable Ribbon Burlap String, Tim Holtz Trim, Tim Holtz Mini Gears, Feather from my stash, Distressed Inks and die cutting machine.

Instructions:

I based this Steampunk hat on this tutorial.  Simply follow the tutorial and create the hat out of Card Stock.  I used Core’dinations Kraft Core Nostalgic Collection Card Stock as the base which I lightly sanded for that worn vintage look and then wrapped the hat with paper from the All Geared Up Paper Collection.  For the image, I stamped, colored and fussy cut the image from the Plates and Gears PreCut Set and positioned it front and center on the hat, surrounding it with some of the fun die cuts from the All Geared Up Die.  In the Plates and Gears PreCut set you have a few cool sentiments to choose from that look like license plates. Stamp your favorite and die cut using the All Geared Up die.  Finish your hat off with a flower made from the Striped Sun Kissed Fleur PreCut set, add some burlap string and some bling and voila you have yourself one funky hat!

Until next time, have a wonderful day!

Crafty hugs to you 🙂

About Castlepark Designs

My name is Joann and I live in Halifax, Nova Scotia with my husband Miles. We have one son who is in the Royal Canadian Navy. I have worked full time in the Finance and Insurance industry for the past 29 years. I absolutely adore all things paper & glue and have been involved with crafting in some way for most of my life. I have a great admiration for creating projects from paper that may not necessarily be made from paper. When not in my craft room, I enjoy spending time at our cottage enjoying all that nature and suburban life has to offer.
