Memory Box

Memory Box

Hi everyone!  So happy you popped by 🙂    Welcome to Wednesday and as always I have some inspiration for Heartfelt Creations for you today!  Today while I was sitting around thinking of ideas I saw a memory box that is shaped like a big book and that got me to thinking.  Why don’t I make something that looks like a book but is more of a shadow box on the inside to feature a image or set of images.

and this is what the Memory Box looks like open:

Products Used:

HCPC 3641 – Heartthrob PreCut Set
HCD 745 – Luggage and Tags Die
HCD 751 – Cut Mat Create 2A Die
HCD 755 – Romantique Garden Die
HCDP1 249 – Romantique Garden Paper Collection
Paper Shaping Tools & Piercing Mat
Art Institute Glue – Dries Clear Glue
Spellbinders Tool N’ One

Project Instructions:

Other products:  White Card Stock, Chipboard, Captivating Squares, Grand Labels Twenty-Three, Resplendent Rectangles, Metal Embellishment, Lace and Bling from my stash, “Memories” sentiment cut file, Distressed Inks (Brushed Corduroy and Bundled Sage), Memento Inks (Angel Pink and Rosebud), 3D Glue Dots and die cutting machine.

Instructions:

Start by creating a shadow box 6″ x 8″ with a 2″depth.  Next cut 2 pieces of chipboard 6 1/4″ x 8 1/2″ for the top and bottom of the box.  Wrap the chipboard in White cardstock and then glue the bottom onto the bottom of your shadow box keeping the left edge flush.  To attach the top, cut a piece of White cardstock 6″ x 4″ and score at the 2″mark.  The 2″ x 6″ flap will be fastened to the left edge of your shadowbox with the remaining piece fastened to the top piece of chip board.  This hings will allow the lid to open.  Finally to make the box look like a book, cut a 6″ x 3 1/2″ piece of card stock and score down both long sides at the 1/2″ mark.  Fold over the scores and fasten 1 side to the left side of the box along the bottom edge.  Once your glue has dried, fasten the other flap to the top of the left side.  Since the piece is wider then the box is tall it will naturally curve out. You can adjust the curve by making the piece wider or more narrow.  Once your box is complete, distress the edges with Brushed Corduroy and then cover with some of the fantastic paper from the Romantique Garden Paper Collection.  Finish with some ribbon, a bit of bling and don’t forget about those lovely flowers!  Stamp, distress with a combination of Angel Pink and Rosebud and die cut lots of those little beauties and place them where desired.
