Welcome to 2015 Sign

Hi everyone!  So happy you popped by 🙂    Welcome to the last Wednesday of the year and actually the last day of 2014!  As always, I have some inspiration for Heartfelt Creations for you today!

With New Years Eve being tonight I wanted create a table decoration to help us ring in the New Year!

and of course, a closer look at those lovely Heartfelt Creations flowers using the Arianna Blooms stamps and the Posy Patch stamps and matching dies.

HCPC 3303 – Posy Patch Flowers PreCut Set
HCPC 3608 – Arianna Blooms PreCut Set
HCD 701 – Posy Patch Die

HCD 750 – Cut Mat Create 1B Die
HCD 751 – Cut Mat Create 2A Die
HCDP1 241 – Once Upon a Time Paper Collection
Paper Shaping Tools & Piercing Mat
Art Institute Glue – Dries Clear Glue
Spellbinders Tool N’ One
Spring Bling Prills

Project Instructions:

Other products:  White Card Stock, Black Card Stock, Green Card Stock, Distressed Inks (Victorian Velvet, Peeled Paint, Brushed Corduroy), Memento Inks(Expresso Truffle), Sparkle Modge Podge, Wink of Stella Brush, Prima Flower Centers, Bling and String from my stash and die cutting machine.

Start by making a 11 1/4″ x 6″ shadow box out of Black Cardstock.  I made my shadow box 1″ deep to give lots of dimension!  When it came time to make my numbers I was simply going to make them using my Cameo but when I was looking for a font I found these cut files and decided they were perfect.  I cut the numbers out of White Card stock and the frames out of the Once Upon a Time Paper Collection.  To keep things in the same color pallet, I also cut out the frame and liner for the main shadow box from the same collection.  Finally, lets not forget about those flowers.  Stamp, die cut and distress out your favorite flowers or flowers.  You can never have enough flowers on your project!  lol  For a little extra shimmer, especially since this is a New Years project, after you shape your flower petals and before you assemble the flower brush them with some Sparkle Modge Podge.  This will not only give your petals some extra strength but an added bonus of some shimmer!

Have a fantastic day and Happy New Year!

My name is Joann and I live in Halifax, Nova Scotia with my husband Miles. We have one son who is in the Royal Canadian Navy. I have worked full time in the Finance and Insurance industry for the past 29 years. I absolutely adore all things paper & glue and have been involved with crafting in some way for most of my life. I have a great admiration for creating projects from paper that may not necessarily be made from paper. When not in my craft room, I enjoy spending time at our cottage enjoying all that nature and suburban life has to offer.

  3. Terrific decoration to bring in the new year, wishing you all the best in 2015!

  4. This is just gorgeous. Santa gave me a new Silhouette Cameo and Cricut Explore for Christmas. I can’t wait to use them.

  5. How beautiful! I love this idea. It would be so cool to hang this and then have pretty chains hanging down and hang little scrapped photos of favorite moments as the year progresses. Then when the next year comes, make a new one, take the old one and the pictures and turn them into an album. (Of course, if you have a lot of walls, you could just leave them up.)

  6. Whoops, forgot to wish you and yours a Happy New Year.

  7. What a great idea! Love your new year’s sign! Have a Happy and Healthy New Year!

  8. Stunning project Joann. It would grace any table beautifully. I love the colors of your flowers, they are absolutely perfect with the background paper. Now, my dear, I will be on the hunt for the Sparkle Mod Podge! Hugs and Happy New Year!

  9. Beautiful table decoration Joann!!!
