Under the Sea – Life With You Is Fintastic

Hi everyone!  I hope you are enjoying the lovely new Under the Sea Collection from Heartfelt Creations! For today’s project, I thought that a ‘fishbowl’ card would be a great way to display some of the lovely images in this collection.

I wanted an extra fold for this card so I decided to make the fish bowl on the front open

finally the inside of the card, I left it blank for someone to personalize:

Other products:  White Card Stock, Distressed Markers (Cracked Pistachio and Squeezed Lemonade), Abandoned Coral Distressed Ink, Crystal Stickles, Versamark, Black Opal Embossing Powder, Lace and Bling from my stash and die cutting machine.

Instructions:

To make this 6″ x 6″ card, first make your basic 6″ x 6″ card out of White card stock layering the front and inside with designer paper from the Under the Sea Paper Collection cut 5 3/4″ x 5 3/4″. The fish bowl could be either made flat, popped out or made to open.  I decided to make it open by taking one fishbowl that I drew and placing it upside down on the top of another one and cutting it out.  For the template I used click here.

To decorate the fish bowl first start with creating a sandy bottom.  This was accomplished by cutting a wavy piece of white card stock from the template, stamping it with Versamark and heat embossing it with Black Opal embossing powder.  The sea grass in the fishbowl was created by fussy cutting the Under the Sea Coral Cling Stamp Set which was was stamped on white cardstock with Expresso Truffle and cut with the matching die and then colored with Cracked Pistachio Distressed Markers.  The colorful fish was created by stamping the Under the Sea Cling Stamp Set on white cardstock with Expresso Truffle and cut with the matching die and then colored with Cracked Pistachio and Squeezed Lemonade Distressed Markers as well as Abandoned Coral Distressed Ink before finishing it off with some Crystal Stickles.  I also used my flower shaping tools to give the fish some dimension. before gluing to the center in the fishbowl.  The small sea shells are cut using the matching die from the pre colored images in the Under the Sea Paper Collection.  Finally. layer all your elements as shown and add a little lace and bling and a ribbon sentiment from the Paper collection and rounded on each end to finish the card off!
