Project Instructions:

Other products:  Kraft Card Stock, Wooden Dowels, Hot Glue, Versafine Vintage Sepia, Classic Chalks, Versamark, Superfine White Embossing Powder, Seafoam Stickles and die cutting machine.

Instructions:

To make the base of the Tiki Hut take a piece of Kraft Card Stock 8″ x 10 1/2″ in size.  Place on your scor board with the long side at the top and scor at the 3″ and 7 1/2″ marks, flip to the short edge and scor at the 3″ and 5″ marks.  This will give you a box 4 1/2″ wide x 3″ tall and 2″ deep.  The roof was made by taking a 4″ x 5 1/2″ piece of card stock and scoring in the middle at the 2″ mark.  Using hot glue, attach the dowels to the roof and also to the base of your Tiki Hut and allow time to dry.  The Tiki Hut was completed by attaching panels cut from the Monkeying Around Paper Collection on all sides.  The Monkeys and Coconuts were all stamped on white card stock using Vintage Sepia ink and die cut with the matching dies and then colored with Pebbles Classic Chalks.  The palm leaves were stamped on white card stock using Vintage Sepia and die cut with the matching dies before distressing with Bamboo Leaves ink.  The flowers were then stamped on white card stock with Versamark and heat embossed with Superfine White Embossing Powder and cut with the matching die before distressing with Rose Coral and Dandelion inks and shaping with the Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit.  To complete the flowers, the centers were accented with Seafoam Stickles.

Thanks so much for visiting.  Have a wonderful day!

About Castlepark Designs

My name is Joann and I live in Halifax, Nova Scotia with my husband Miles. We have one son who is in the Royal Canadian Navy. I have worked full time in the Finance and Insurance industry for the past 29 years. I absolutely adore all things paper & glue and have been involved with crafting in some way for most of my life. I have a great admiration for creating projects from paper that may not necessarily be made from paper. When not in my craft room, I enjoy spending time at our cottage enjoying all that nature and suburban life has to offer.
