Project Instructions:

Other products:  White Card Stock, Pink Card Stock, Aqua Card Stock, Brilliance Ink – Watering Can and Crimson Red, Derwent Water Color Pencils (#21, 19 and 51), Yellow stickles and die cutting machine.

Instructions:

This heart shaped box measures approximately 6″ x 5″ x 2 1/2″ high.  To make this box lets start with the base.  For my project I created a 5″ x 6″ heart using my electronic cutter but you could use a template or die just the same.  You will need 2 hearts and 2 strips of white card stock measuring 9 1/4″ x 2 1/2″.  Scor the strips at the 1/2″ mark on the bottom and 1 side and along the bottom cut relief cuts up to the scor line to allow the card stock to bend.  Attach one side the 2 strips together, end to end to form a long strip and fold all your tabs from the relief cuts into the middle.  Take one of your hearts and put adhesive along the edge and starting from the top of the heart, place the joint where you joined the 2 strips right into the  center of the heart and working one side at a time attach the tabs along both sides until you reach the point at the bottom.  At this point if your strips are a little long you can simply cut them to length before fastening them together.  The top will be created the exact same way but you need to make the top just slightly larger to allow the top to close over the bottom.  The Classic Rose and Petunia flowers were stamped on white card stock using Watering Can ink and die cut with the matching dies before distressing with Pearlescent Poppy and Pearlescent Coral inks before shaping with the flower shaping tools. After the Petunia flowers were shaped they were finished with Pastel Bead Stamens-Medium.  The corner floral images from the Banners Of Love Cling Stamp Set were stamped on white card stock using Watering Can ink and die cut with the matching dies before coloring with Derwent Water Color Pencils.  The “Just For You” banner was stamped on white card stock using Watering Can ink and die cut with the matching die before coloring with Derwent Water Color Pencils and accenting with Yellow stickles.

Have a wonderful day!  I hope see you again very soon.

About Castlepark Designs

My name is Joann and I live in Halifax, Nova Scotia with my husband Miles. We have one son who is in the Royal Canadian Navy. I have worked full time in the Finance and Insurance industry for the past 29 years. I absolutely adore all things paper & glue and have been involved with crafting in some way for most of my life. I have a great admiration for creating projects from paper that may not necessarily be made from paper. When not in my craft room, I enjoy spending time at our cottage enjoying all that nature and suburban life has to offer.
