About

Hi, my name is Joann and I live in Halifax, Nova Scotia which is located on the East Coast of Canada with my wonderful husband Miles.  We have one son Kyle who is in the Royal Canadian Navy.  I have worked full time outside of the home in the Finance and Investment industry with the same employer since I graduated from University some time ago LOL!  I absolutely adore all things paper & glue and have been involved with crafting in some form for most of my life.  I have a great admiration for creating dimensional projects from paper with particular emphasis on 3D art or altered art.  If I had to pick one particular style that I am drawn to, it would be shabby elegant vintage.    Winters here in Nova Scotia tend to be long and cold so I spend a lot of time in my happy place aka my craft room; however in the Summer, we love spending time at our cottage on the lake enjoying all that nature has to offer.

  6. Hello I am sorry but I have a very stupid question; the term DP is used under almost very card on your blog, and I feel very foolish but I don’t know what this means? It is not a acronym I have come across since joining the wonderful crafting world. Please can you explain ( I know I will feel extremely foolish once I know)! Thank you Derelyn

  7. Direct to Paper – it refers to rubbing or patting the ink pad directly onto the cardstock you are using.

  11. Pls don’t change your blog to blogspot will you? You are the only HC DT member on WordPress and I love their products and designs so much but I’m on WordPress like you so you are the only DT member I can follow. I know you’re not likely to change but I just wanted to make sure 🙂

  13. Hi,just discovered your blog. Your cards are beautiful. I do have a question.do you mind telling me on your Peacock Accordion Fold Card how do you make the frame. Is there a die to use. What is the secret, it is driving me crazy trying to figure out how to make a frame. Thank you.

    • Hi Carole,

First off thank you for following my blog. I made the frame for this card from scratch but there is a die that does something similar. I think it is made by Sizzix but I am not positive. I do have step by step instructions on my post with pictures. It seems more imitating then it actually is. If you have any problems let me know. I am planning on doing this again but with a different shape. I will try to do a different set of step by step instructions and provide more pictures.
      Thanks again,
      Joann

      • Thank you for answering me back. The directions are great . I just don’t know how to cut out the middle of the paper to make a frame. My dies are too small. If you have any ideas, please let me know. Thank you and have a good day

  15. Joann,
You recently created a card for HC for the Wildwood Cottage Preview #2 that was shown on Friday Jan 06, 2017. It was a beautiful purple hued accordion folded card with another accordion fold card popping up in the opposite direction on the inside. Not describing it very well but I loved it! Do you happen to have a tutorial on how to create the folded card or could point me in the direction of someone who does? Thanks so much. Your designs are beautiful!!

All the details to create this card will be available this Wednesday (Jan 18) on the HC blog as it is my project to be revealed this week. Also thank you for becoming a new follower, I really appreciate it. Be sure to visit my blog on Wednesday for all of the details to create this project. I would love to see your creation 🙂
