Cornucopia (Horn of Plenty)

Cornucopia (Horn of Plenty)

Hi everyone! ¬†Thanks for popping by today ūüôā ¬†¬†Welcome to some Wednesday inspiration for Heartfelt Creations!

I am too excited!! ¬†This week¬†I want to share with you a project that I have been trying to create¬†for several years now. ¬†I have made several attempts over the past few years but could not execute it and give it the justice it deserves. ¬†Today’s project is a Cornucopia. ¬†I actually found a cut file that I thought was brilliant and you can find it ¬†here. ¬†When I saw this cut file I knew¬†I had the perfect Heartfelt Creations Paper Collection to accompany it. ¬† I must admit, I just fell in love with it and had to do it to share with you. ¬† I honestly couldn’t be happier with it but would love to know what ¬†you think?

Project Instructions:

Other products:  Green Card Stock, Brown Card Stock, Glass Pearl Beads, Raffia, Distressed Inks, Modge Podge Sparkle and die cutting machine.

Instructions:

Start by making the Cornucopia according to the directions here.  Cut a few of the big flourishes from the Cut Mat Create 2A Die and place on the Cornucopia where desired and finish with a butterfly fussy cut from the paper collection and a tag cut using the Luggage and Tags Die.  Now for the fun!  Take out the wonderful Classic Sunflower PreCut stamp set and stamp some flowers.  I like to heat emboss my flowers but that is up to you.  After they are stamped, die cut and distress the flowers.  Once the flowers are shaped, layer the flowers using as many layers as you like.  Remember there is no wrong way to make a flower!  This time I finished the center off with some fun Glass Pearl Beads but you can use anything that you desire.  Finally place the Cornucopia in a focal point and watch everyone enjoy it!

Old Fashioned Fall Harvest Crate

Hi everyone! ¬†So happy you popped by¬†ūüôā ¬†¬†¬†Welcome to some Wednesday inspiration for Heartfelt Creations!

Last weekend I was cleaning up down at our little cottage in the valley and I found some lovely old vintage crates that were used for Apples so I decided I would use this as inspiration for this week’s post. ¬†The apple crates looked like these:

HCD 752 –¬†Cut Mat Create 2B Die
HCD 753 – Classic Sunflower Die
HCDP1 247 – Classic Sunflower Collection
Art Institute Glue – Dries Clear Glue

Project Instructions:

Other products:  Off-White Card Stock, Postage Stamps Die, Leafy Squares Die, Teresa Collins Woodgrain Cottage Embossing Folder, Distressed Inks, 3D pop dots, Bling from my stash and die cutting machine.

Instructions:

To make my crate I started by making 4 – 3D slats out of Off-White Card stock 10″ x 4 1/4″ and score on the long side at 1 1/4″, 2″, 3 1/4″ and the 4″ marks. ¬†On the short sides score at 1/4″ mark from each end. ¬†These will fold into small 3D slats. ¬†For the sides I used the same principle but cut a piece of card stock 5 1/2″ x 10 1/2″ and scored on the short side at the 1/4″, 1/2″, 5″ and 5 1/4″ marks and also on the long¬†side at the 1/4″ and 1/2″ marks from each side. ¬†Finally the base is made the same way but this time cut a piece of card stock 9 1/2″ x 6 1/2″ and score at the 1/4″ and 1/2″ marks on all 4 sides and finish by attaching another 9″ x 6″ piece of card stock on the bottom. (Hint: ¬†you can use this same method to make envelopes for cards that are to think to fit into a traditional flat envelope!) ¬†After you assemble all the pieces you can decorate to box as desired. ¬†I did not fill the box with anything but it could be easily used for dinner rolls at Thanksgiving! ¬†Finally add some flowers. ¬†Stamp, die cut and distress some of the amazing¬†Classic Sunflower PreCut stamp set and finish the centers of the flowers with Bright Ideas Prills or some bling.

Country Keepsake Box

Hi everyone! ¬†Thanks so much for popping by ūüôā ¬†¬†¬†Welcome to some Wednesday inspiration for Heartfelt Creations!

Today I want to share with you a¬†project which I created using the ¬†new “Classic Sunflower Collection”. ¬†It’s my verson of a Country Keepsake Box to house all your little collectibles or easily could be used as a box to give some homemade preserves to that special someone. ¬†This collection really reminds me of harvest and it’s one of my most favorite times of the year.

Labels 1 Grand Nestabilities

Project Instructions:

Other products: Off-White Card Stock, Orange Card Stock, Grand Decorative Labels One, Distressed Inks, Burlap, String, Ribbon and flat backed pearls from my stash and die cutting machine.

Instructions:

Start by cutting the 2nd largest Grand Decorative Labels One 2 times, this will be your top and bottom. ¬†Next, cut 2¬†Labels 1 Grand Nestabilities out or Orange and finish by cutting another¬†Grand Decorative Labels One using a piece of paper from the¬†Classic Sunflower Collection. ¬†These pieces will form the top and bottom of your box. ¬†For the sides cut 2 – 5 3/4″ x 4″ strips of paper and score them on the long edges at the 1/2″ mark. ¬†The other 2 sides are strips cut 6″3/4″ x 4″ and these are scored at the 1/2″ mark on all 4 sides. ¬†Once you have them all cut and scored assemble the side pieces together and then glue them to the base. ¬†To attach the top I like to cut another piece of card stock and glue it to both the back of the box as well as the lid to act as a hinge. ¬†You can then cover the hing with extra card stock to hide the edges. ¬†Finish the box by decoration with more paper from the¬†Classic Sunflower Collection and then start working on the lovely Sunflowers that come as part of this collection! ¬† Stamp, stamp, distress and die cut out some of the lovely Classic Sunflowers, assemble and¬†finish it off in the center with some Bright Ideas¬†Prills!

HCD 726 РDelicate Asters Die (leaves)
HCD 753 – Classic Sunflower Die
HCDP1 247 – Classic Sunflower Collection
Art Institute Glue – Dries Clear Glue
Spring Bling Prills

Project Instructions:

Other products: Brown Card Stock, Letters cutout using my Cameo in ivory Card Stock, Distressed Inks, Ribbon and glitter from my stash and die cutting machine.

Instructions:

Start by cutting six layers for the base of the sign out of Brown Card Stock.  This will give your sign lots of strength.  Cut two layers in the same size and then the next two a little smaller and finally the last two a bit smaller again so you have a nice layered effect.  I made my layers in all the same color brown cardstock but if I were to do it again I think I might add a contrasting color to show the layering effect.  For the shape, I made my own template that you can download here.  Next select a piece of paper from the collection that you would like to use for the sign and cut it again making it smaller then the last 2 layers of Brown and glue them all together.   I cut out the welcome letters using my cutting machine so once they have been cut take the letters and attach them to the sign before you start to decorate.  For the rooster, I simply fussy cut out of the premade image included in the paper collection.  Stamp, stamp, distress and die cut out some of the lovely Classic Sunflowers, assemble and finish it off in the center with some Spring Bling Prills!  Display proudly and enjoy!
