Exciting News!

Hi everyone!

Today I want to share some exciting news with you.   A little while ago I was contacted by Anna Goldfarb about an article she was writing for the Styles section of the New York Times.  With the success of the Netflix show “The Queen’s Gambit,” there has been an increased interest in Chess Sets and she wrote an article about how to create your own chess set and she found one I created a while ago.  I feel very honored and flattered that with everything available online today Anna found my creation and reached out to me! Sometimes it is the little things that spread hope and joy!  If you are interested in creating your own Chess Set, you can find the digital file available in my Etsy store here.

My name is Joann and I live in Halifax, Nova Scotia with my husband Miles. We have one son who is in the Royal Canadian Navy. I have worked full time in the Finance and Insurance industry for the past 29 years. I absolutely adore all things paper & glue and have been involved with crafting in some way for most of my life. I have a great admiration for creating projects from paper that may not necessarily be made from paper. When not in my craft room, I enjoy spending time at our cottage enjoying all that nature and suburban life has to offer.

        Thank you for your nice reply. So nice to hear from you my friend. I often wondered what new designs you were coming up with. I was so enthralled with the beautiful cards you designed and wanted to learn so much more from you. I sure hope you get an opportunity to come back to Moncton sometime and put another course on.
