Happy Birthday to You!

Hi everyone and welcome to some Wednesday inspiration for Heartfelt Creations!

Today I want to share with you a fun little gift you can make for someone celebrating a birthday.  A cupcake purse!

It opens up to show the yummy treat inside.  I cannot accept credit for the cupcake.    I actually bought six and this is the only one that my family did not eat before I could take the pictures!  LOL!

Project Instructions:

Other products: Grand Labels Eleven, Pink Card Stock, Memento Inks, Pearls and Ribbon from my stash and die cutting machine.

Instructions:

Start by making a box 4″ x 4″, 1″ high with a 2″ hold cut out of it to hold the cupcake.  For the front and back pieces I used the Grand Labels Eleven in the size I wanted and scored 1″ at the bottom and used this to attach the front and back to the base.  The sides were made by taking the same shape as the front and back and gently curving them until the top center was 1″ wide.  I cut a little slit as well so the sides stayed closed.   Once you attach all the pieces to the base, cover the base with another layer of paper to hide all the flaps.  I also made a small flap that I attached to the back panel that is folded and used a small magnet hold the purse closed.  Finally, stamp, distress and die cut your favorite flowers.  I used the new Arianna Blooms flowers and I love how they turn out.  Last but not least, place a cupcake into the purse and there you have a lovely little gift for that someone special : )

Thanks again for popping by today, I truly appreciate you taking time out of your day.  Would love you know what you are working on lately?

My name is Joann and I live in Halifax, Nova Scotia with my husband Miles. We have one son who is in the Royal Canadian Navy. I have worked full time in the Finance and Insurance industry for the past 29 years. I absolutely adore all things paper & glue and have been involved with crafting in some way for most of my life. I have a great admiration for creating projects from paper that may not necessarily be made from paper. When not in my craft room, I enjoy spending time at our cottage enjoying all that nature and suburban life has to offer.

  3. Oh now I love this Joann. What a brilliannt idea! I am working at the moment on a Dt card, you will laugh when I tell you that I am struggling with the shape, (or was) and the card seemed to get smaller and smaller – I think I am going to end up with a four inch instead of a 6 to 7 inch one! Haha. All good fun eh! Judy x
