Adventure of a Lifetime

Adventure of a Lifetime

Good Morning friends,  Hope you are having a wonderful day so far!

Can you imagine what takes place around the pond when no one is looking?   I imagine that all the little frogs throw a party and everyone is invited! LOL!  Today I have a fun card created using the Winking Frog Collection from Heartfelt Creations.

Instructions:

This is what I call a 2 step easel card and today I will walk you through how to make it.

To make this 6″ x 6″ step card first cut a piece of white card Stock 6″ x 12″ and scor on the long side at the 1 1/4″, 2 1/2″, 4 1/4″, 6″ and 9″ marks. Next take another piece of card stock 6″ x 12″ and scor at the 6″ mark. Attach the second piece to the largest fold of the first piece to make your card. Cover the card with paper from the Winking Frog Paper Collection cut slightly smaller than the panels for some definition.

The panel on the front of the card is made by fussy cutting some of the mushrooms from one of the paper sheets from the Winking Frog Paper Collection and layering them on the bottom panel of the card finished by a strip sentiment from the same paper collection.

The middle panel is first covered with a oval shape which serves as the pond.  I manually created this using paper from the Winking Frog Paper Collection along with a few accents of bullrush which were also manually created. To give the tops of the bullrush some extra texture I covered them in brown beads that I purchased from my local dollar store. Next you will have to add 2 more mushrooms that you have leftover from the front panel and a copule of Lily pads. The Lily Pads from the Water Lily Cling Stamp set were stamped with Expresso Truffle and die cut using the matching die before distressing them with a combination of Olive Grove and Bamboo Leaves inks. Now it’s time to start building all of those lovely frogs that live in the pond. All the frog images were die cut using the matching dies from the pre-colored images that come as part of the Winking Frog Paper Collection which is a great way to create a card when you do not have a lot of time to color.  A few flowers were also added. The Water Lily flowers were stamped on white cardstock with Expresso Truffle and cut with the matching die and colored with Pickled Raspberry distress ink using a water brush. Shape flowers with Deluxe Flower Shaping Kit, make some single and some double blooms, add beads to centers and finish them off with some glossy accents and a brush of Wink of Stella clear for a little extra sparkle.

Lastly, the back layer is finished by 1 lily pad which was colored with Olive Grove and Peeled Paint distress inks and topped with a 2 layer flower, a second 2 layer flower as well as a dragonfly also die cut from the pre-colored images using the matching dragonfly die. The sentiment shown (top left) was fussy cut from one of the papers from the Winking Frog Paper Collection and added to the card. To get the consistent arch for this sentiment I simply placed an oval behind the sentiment and traced the shape top and bottom before I cut it. The finishing touch on this card was to add a die cut from the Regal Borders and Pockets Die using the Winking Frog Paper Collection attached to the top.

Thanks so much for visiting.  Have a wonderful day!
