Hi Everyone, hope all of you have been having a wonderful week!
For my project this week, I made a Garden Trellis.
I guess you can say I am grateful that we have been enjoying some nicer weather although living on the ocean means weather can change at a moments notice. We have a saying here, … if you don’t like the weather…just wait a moment! To prove that phrase I just heard the forecast for tonight and we are expecting 6-10 inches of snow!
For this card I wanted to make a Center Step Card but instead of having the center portion of the card flush with the front I wanted the edges flush with the front. Here is a template for what I did. The card stock is 6.5 ” x 12″. The Red lines are the cut lines and the Blue lines are score lines. For the loop across the top I cut 2 circles, 1 smaller then the other and then cut it in half.
To create the trellis I simply used the Expandable Quilling Strip Die. I cut this using the smallest strip 6 times per piece to give it a wood like feel. After I glued all the strips together I glued the bottom 1 inch of each strip together. After that dried I put in my spacers to give the trellis the flair it needed. I placed on of my flowers on it to see how it would look before I made all my flowers and here is a closer look at the finished project:
Here are a couple more views of the finished project:
Here’s a list of the dies used for this project:
B117S – Mini Fanciful Flourish
B152 – Miniature Rose
B154 – Medium Rose
B178 – Flourish Leaf Strip
B188 – Embellishment #2
B264 – Build a Flower # 3
B266 – Tiny Things with Wings
DL129 – Border Carnivale
DL183 – Oval Doily Stacker One
E168 – Expandable Quilling Strip Die
I hope you can find some time to visit the challenge this week and put in your entry where the theme is Anything Goes! With your entry you will have a chance to win a $20.00 shopping spree at Cheery Lynn Designs!

Hi, Joann. Thanks for sharing your beautiful trellis card!
May I suggest another method for making a trellis? Cut a strip of cardstock 1″ wide x 8 1/2″ long. Mark every 1/8″ lengwise, and cut with scissors, leaving 1″ not cut at the bottom. Cut the last 1/8″ strip off, which you would use for the crossbars. Shape your trellis, and trim the top ends as desired.
Happy crafting!
