Accordion Card

Hi everyone,

A dear friend of mine sent me a link to a lovely Accordion Card die that she recently purchased.    I simply fell in love with the premise of what this die could do so I decided to try my had at re-creating it using the dies I had already : )  I am pretty tickled with the end result actually LOL!

Products Used:

HCPC 3494 – Delicate Asters PreCut Set
HCD 725 – Decorative Metal Fixtures Die
HCD 726 – Delicate Asters Die
HCD 732 – Decorative Flower Pot Die
HCDP1 234 – Daphne Paper Collection
HCDP1 239 – Majestic Morning Paper Collection

Project Instructions:

Other products: White Card Stock, Decorative Labels One,  Labels One, Opulent Ovals, Modge Podge, Distressed Ink, adhesive and die cutting machine.

Instructions:

Cut 8 pieces of card stock 4 1/2” x 3 1/2” for the frames and attach 4 of them together using 4 1/2″ x 1″ strips scored in the middle.  On the back of the frames that you just assembled, mark the center of each frame and attach a 4 1/2″ x 1″ strip on each frame to hold the center frame.  Once the glue has set, attach the second set of frames that you made to clean up the back.  Next cut 8 of the middle die in the Labels One set and attach to each side of the strips in the center of each frame making relief cuts half way through each strip so the center panel will twist in the desired direction.  Complete the panels with Decorative Labels One die cuts and decorate as desired.  Don’t forget to add lots of flowers!  LOL

I hope to see  you again soon.  I love to read your comments, thank you so much!

  11. This is ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!!! Your choice of colors and textures is just right. I plan to be checking out your gorgeous artistry often here and on SCS–as Jenny Garlick says, congrats on having your work featured on SCS, that’s a great accomplishment, good for you, and so well-deserved too. What is your name on SCS so I can find your work easier, if that is OK… You are one great artist, and I am loving your work!!!

Best wishes, Joanne (905lovestostamp on SCS, but I haven’t uploaded in some time due to health issues, hoping to get back in the saddle very soon…)

    • JUST saw that you are from Halifax, Joann!!! I am originally from Moncton, NB but relocated to the Hamilton, ON area after needing specialized treatment following a car accident and decided to stay here. SO neat to see such amazing work from a fellow east-coaster, how wonderful is this!!! 🙂

  13. Wow, first time strolling through your blog which after seeing your stunning and cleverly designed accordion card is now saved as a fav blog. My attempts at accordion card making have all fallen apart by the time the card was complete due to weak ‘hinges’ and the stress put on them during the card making process. I will have another go thanks to your card instructions. Thank you from a new fan Wales uk

  15. I saw this card on another site and fell in love with it ! I don’t have all the things I need to make it, but like I’ve seen you say, I’ll give it a whirl with what I do have. I’ve learned so much tonight just going through the tutorials from Heartfelt Creations. If you have any hints as to how this card goes together I’d love have them. I’m a little shaky about how it goes together, but I so want this to be the Mothers Day card for my mom this year. Such incredible beauty!!
